Wraysbury 1 South reopened to anglers after major restoration work completed in 2020, expanding RK Leisure's access beyond the more famous North Lake following years of limited fishing. New swims were built in, including an island area available for exclusive booking.
The lake's history of low fishing pressure has kept it something of an unknown quantity — bailiffs and anglers alike have reported sightings of very large, uncaught carp. The confirmed stock, including named fish like The Hooligan, is younger than the North Lake's legendary residents but growing fast, with a current lake record of 46lb for Mirror Carp already on the board.
For anglers drawn to genuine mystery rather than a well-picked-over water, South Lake is one to watch.
