Wraysbury 1 North is one of the better-known big carp fisheries in the UK, having undergone a major restoration and restocking programme over the past decade under Raphael Khalili. The 40-acre lake now features purpose-built swims and upgraded facilities, alongside a carefully selected stock that includes heavily scaled mirrors and long common carp.
The water has history too — it was previously home to the Fungus Mirrors, including the well-known King Fungus, which reached close to 48lb before the lake changed hands. Fish Carpdex tracks here today include The Birthday Fish, Long Sutton and Mike's Pet.
