Oxlease Lake is the sister water to Cranwells on the private Wasing Estate in Berkshire, sharing the same gated, otter-fenced access beside the River Kennet. Like its neighbour, it's a secluded, premium fishery rather than an open day-ticket venue.
Oxlease is best known for its namesake resident, 'The Oxlease Common', one of the estate's standout specimen carp. The lake record stands at 68lb for Mirror Carp, placing it among the most serious waters tracked on Carpdex.
Anglers fishing the Wasing Estate often split time between Oxlease and Cranwells given their shared access, but Oxlease's own history with its Common carp gives it a distinct draw.
