Named fish

Nazeing Meads is a wild gravel pit complex on the Lee Valley totalling 125 acres, generally fished as two lakes — the 68-acre North Lagoon and the 57-acre Centre/South Lagoon.

The North Lagoon offers open water broken up by bays, channels and depths ranging from a few feet to around 20ft, reached by formal paths and several car parks; a sailing club also operates on the lake. Its carp population — a mix of naturally-established fish and stock introduced over the years by Lee Valley Park — is estimated at 150 to 170 fish, ranging from double figures to over 40lb, alongside bream to 17lb, pike over 20lb, chub and a few trout.
