Heron Lake sits within the Waterside Fishery in the Chess Valley, Buckinghamshire — a small, intimate water at just 1.6 acres holding around 80 carp, ten of which are past 30lb, with the biggest known fish at 35lb.
Rather than day tickets, the lake is let out on a booking-only basis to a single group of up to five anglers at a time, giving whoever's fishing exclusive use of the whole water. An on-site cabin with heating, air conditioning, a kitchen and an outdoor seating area supports longer sessions.
