Heron is part of the Abbey Lakes complex in France, a venue that built its reputation around Shoulders — an enormous carp that held the complex record at 98lb 4oz before her death in 2016. Since then, Heron has developed its own identity as a water with a big head of carp rather than just one standout fish.
Most of the stock sits in the 30-40lb range, with a significant number over 50lb and a good showing of 60lb-plus fish, some topping 70lb. The lake is also known for its outsized grass carp and a couple of huge Carp Argente, one of which has become something of a local celebrity for regularly basking near the surface in the clear water.
