Farlows Lake 1

Farlows Lake 1 has genuine pedigree in carp fishing circles — well-known anglers including Rob Maylin and Steve Briggs learned their craft here and have written about the venue extensively over the years.

At roughly 25 acres and holding an estimated 1,200 carp, it's a prolific water with an average fish weight around 24-26lb. Close to 100 different carp have passed 30lb, with 10-15 fish over 40lb and several more approaching that mark. The lake record currently stands at 44lb 6oz.

A 2013 stocking of fast-growing Leney/Dink strain carp added to an already old, dark and scaly original head of fish, giving Farlows a genuinely varied population for a day-ticket water. Carpdex tracks ten named fish here, including The Long Mirror, Old Gnarly and Big Fully.
