Crete Lakes Lake 1 is part of the wider Crete Lakes venue near Reims in northeast France — a 130-acre complex of five lakes dug as gravel pits in the mid-1970s and later developed into one of the country's heaviest-stocked carp fisheries.
Across the complex, carp over 50lb are common, with numerous 60s and several fish into the 70s, and the venue holds specimens up to around 85lb. Onsite facilities include a kitchen, shower block and bait shop, with bailiffs on hand throughout a stay — a setup built for multi-day carp fishing trips rather than a quick session.
