Bottle Lake is one of three interconnected waters in the Shalford Syndicate on the private Wasing Estate in Berkshire, fished alongside Staghead and Shalford Lake through the same gated, otter-fenced access beside the River Kennet.
Like the rest of the Wasing waters, it's run as a low-pressure syndicate rather than an open day-ticket fishery, with carp here topping out at 48lb 14oz. Carpdex tracks Apple-scale Mirror and Bottle Long Common among its residents.
The wider estate has serious pedigree in carp circles — its Specimen Syndicate waters were once home to 'Parrot', long regarded as the British record carp at 69lb — and Bottle Lake shares that same reputation for well looked-after fish.
