Ashmead Fishery sits within 17 acres of wetland in Somerset, managed by the Carp Society for members seeking a genuinely wild setting rather than a manicured day-ticket water. The reserve-like surroundings support a wide range of wildlife alongside the fishery itself.

The carp stock here runs large: mirror carp have topped 50lb and commons have been landed past the 40lb mark, putting Ashmead among the more serious specimen waters in the South West. Carpdex currently tracks named fish including Opal and Gail from this water.

Its scale and seclusion mean anglers can genuinely lose themselves for a session, with the wetland habitat adding an atmosphere that's as much a draw as the carp themselves.
