Abbey Lakes sits near Longueil-Sainte-Marie in the Hauts-de-France region, and was founded in 1999 by Sébastien Harle d'Ophove as one of Europe's first dedicated carp and catfish angling centres, opening to visitors the following year.
The complex spans six mature lakes — Heron, Fox, Kingfisher, Attila, Wild Boar and Frog — each stocked with carp running well into the 70lb range, with a former lake record standing at 98lb 4oz. On-site facilities include a restaurant, accommodation, a tackle shop, vehicle access to swims, shower blocks, bait storage and round-the-clock bailiff cover.
Carpdex tracks Lilly among the named carp caught here.
