Bounty Rules

Last updated: 8 October 2026

1. Who runs bounties

Bounties are organised, funded and paid by [Carpdex legal entity name]("Carpdex", "we"). Apple and Google are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, any bounty. Taking part is free — you never need to pay or subscribe to claim a bounty. These rules form part of our Terms of Service.

2. What a bounty is

A bounty is a cash reward attached to a specific named fish in Carpdex. Bounties are funded by credits that Pro members choose to put towards a fish (one credit adds £1) and by us. The current bounty is shown on the fish's page in the app.

3. Who can claim

  • You must be 18 or over and have a Carpdex account in your own name.
  • Your account must be at least 14 days old on the day you catch the fish.
  • You must have caught the fish yourself, legally — with a valid rod licence where required and the fishery's permission, following its rules.
  • Carpdex staff and their immediate families can't claim bounties.

4. How to claim

  1. Before you fish, check Today's Bounty Code in the app. The code changes every day at midnight (UK time).
  2. When you land the fish, log the catch in the app against that named fish, with the correct date.
  3. Record a claim video in the app. It must be at least 20 seconds long and one continuous take— no cuts or edits. Keep your face in shot while you say the date, the fish's name and the bounty code for the day of the catch, then show the fish clearly so its distinguishing markings can be seen.
  4. Tick to confirm you agree to these rules, and submit your claim from the catch in the app.

Please submit your claim as soon as possible, and within 30 days of the catch.

5. Checking your claim

We review every claim. We check that the code matches the day you logged the catch, that your account was old enough, that the video is genuine and unedited, and that the fish matches the named fish's known markings. We may ask you for more evidence (such as photos, the fishery's confirmation or proof of identity) and may contact the fishery.

We will reject claims that don't meet these rules, and we may disqualify anyone we reasonably believe has submitted a false, edited or misleading claim, or caught the fish unlawfully or in breach of fishery rules. We'll explain why if your claim is rejected.

6. Payouts

If your claim is approved we'll contact you to arrange payment by bank transfer or PayPal, normally within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. The amount paid is the bounty shown on the fish when we process your payout, after which that fish's bounty resets to £0 and can build up again.

If more than one valid claim is made for the same fish, the claim for the earliest catch is paid first. Bounties are paid to you personally and can't be transferred. You're responsible for any tax that may be due on a payout.

7. Fish welfare

Fish welfare comes first. Use an unhooking mat, keep the fish wet, and keep it out of the water no longer than necessary while filming. We may reject claims where a fish has clearly been mistreated.

8. Changes and questions

We may update these rules, suspend bounties, or adjust a bounty where needed (for example if a fish dies or is moved). Changes won't affect a claim you've already validly submitted. Questions? Email hello@carpdex.com.
